Lisa Maule is an award winning theatre designer from Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington who has contributed to the New Zealand performing arts scene over the past 35 years. She is best known as a lighting designer.
In addition to her performance design practice Lisa works in project management, research and coordination across education, performing arts and events. She is currently working for Te Rākau Hua o Te Wao Tapu as Kaihautū Producer. She is an emerging creative writer and premiered a poetry show and book in August 2025 called Revelation Valley.
As an educator Lisa taught at Toi Whakaari: the New Zealand Drama School between 2008 and 2017 on the Performing Arts Management degree. In 2022 Lisa taught scenography at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington. Lisa completed a Masters in Public Management in 2018 focusing on leadership practices in values-based organisations.
Lisa coordinates editing of Wikipedia as an accessible source of information. She co-authored with Sophia Coghini a case study titled Pasifika Arts and Wikipedia and is the Vice President of Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand (WANZ), the New Zealand Chapter of Wikipedia.
